The method of recovery and reuse of lateritic nickel ore waste residue is to calcine lateritic nickel ore waste residue at 160~900 ℃ for 20~120 min, and after natural cooling, grind it into powder material with 0.08 mm sieve residue less than 10% through nickel slag vertical grinding mill to prepare raw material of magnesium cement, road base curing material or building wall paint putty. The specific steps for the recovery and reuse of laterite nickel ore slag are as follows:

 

(1) The nickel slag with moisture content of 12%~18% (fine particles below 3 mm account for more than 70%, and the viscosity is strong) is dried by a fast boiling dryer, the moisture content is reduced to less than 3%, and then it is put into storage after multistage iron removal treatment, and the ingredients are put into the nickel slag grinding mill.

 

(2) The dried nickel slag is fed into the nickel slag mill for extrusion and crushing after batching (adding an appropriate amount of activator), and then separated by air separation. The coarse particles are returned to the nickel slag vertical roller mill, and the remaining fine powder enters the powder concentrator with the wind to prepare the finished product, which is then put into storage. The coarse powder with a specific surface area of<200m2/kg is returned to the nickel slag vertical grinding mill and then crushed. Some ultra-fine powder with a specific surface area of>450m2/kg is collected by the dust collector and then directly transported to the finished product warehouse.

 

Laterite nickel ore waste slag is actually a mixture of calcium sulfate, magnesium hydroxide, calcium silicate hydrate and calcium aluminate hydrate. After drying or low temperature calcination, the mixture of anhydrous calcium sulfate, magnesium oxide, dicalcium silicate and calcium aluminate is obtained. It has the common characteristics of Portland cement, magnesite cement and gypsum. It is a new type of cementitious material and has wide use in the construction industry. The recovery and reuse process of laterite nickel ore waste slag is simple, does not involve high temperature, high pressure and expensive materials, and is easy to implement.
